This month’s "Meet the Member" features digital marketer, and content creator Chloe Plumstead. In her spare time, she loves gardening. She has recently teamed up with Feverfew Garden Company, to design her, “dream pair of gardening gloves”.
Hello! My name is Chloe and I work in digital marketing & content creation. I joined Unicorn back in 2021 having been self-employed and working from home for a decent stretch of time. I really missed the office experience, perhaps not working for someone or the politics but sharing a space with friendly, chatty people who will almost always offer to make you a tea.
It’s been over three years now and I still love coming in. I’ve made some great friends and somehow I haven’t been asked to give my keys back (yet).
I worked on a burger van when I was 13/14. My main responsibilities were taking orders, making teas, coffees and sandwiches and trying not to get in the way too much. I spent a lot of time reading the newspaper and eating ketchup sandwiches (a delicacy), plus I got paid £40 a day which I’d promptly spend after getting the bus into town.
Feverfew x Chloe - Maple Mushroom Gloves
I worked with the independent gardening brand Feverfew this year to release a pair of limited edition gardening gloves, which was a really exciting moment for me. I love gardening and growing and I create a lot of content from my garden, so it’s super special to see other passionate gardeners wearing the gloves I helped design. They have little mushrooms on! So sweet. But they’re also fantastically hardy, designed to fit women’s hands specifically AND we released an XS size for people with diddy hands.
More so an early bird but I still enjoy a little lay-in. Once I’m out of bed I’m full of beans, though, whereas past 8pm my daily battery has depleted (unless there’s prosecco involved).
I come from a family of terrible sleepers so it’s a rite of passage that at a certain age, 4am becomes your normal wake up time. I get an automatic text from my Mum’s phone each morning when she goes for her walk at 4:30am. I’m not quite there yet, but I definitely prefer to have a fuller morning than a fuller evening.

I had the pleasure of attending three weddings this summer so being surrounded by friends and food while watching people I care about get married has been truly special.
My brother took me back to Edinburgh for my 30th too which I loved - beautiful city, great food and an even better Botanic Garden.
Talking to my cat, eating loads of biscuits and procrastinating by measuring up for DIY projects which I’ll never start, let alone finish. I love watching Twitch streams, too.
Going on holiday outside of Europe! I’m not big into holidays, really - I love being at home - so all of my trips have been within the UK or Europe. I’m planning on going further afield next year which is slightly stressful but also very exciting.

This is a tricky one because there are so many things I wish I had the talent for. There are too many things to know! I’d love to be able to play the piano or speak French but I’m not sure how useful those skills would be.
It would probably make more sense to snap my fingers and become an expert in trading or something financial but that’s hideously boring, isn’t it?
I’d love to know how to make a cabinet, to understand wood grain and angles and the geometry of putting things together with your hands.
Perhaps an expert in poetry, so I could quote magnificent lines and irritate other people with my lyricism and memory.
I really don’t think I have any..? I certainly wouldn’t hide it, anyway. I’ll let everyone know if I think I’m good at something. I’m humble like that. I’m pretty good at remembering song lyrics but I’m not sure that’s an inviting talent for anybody but myself, because unfortunately for those around me, they have to hear me singing them.

Marc Rebillet - he’s a musician who often shares videos on YouTube or streams mini street concerts live. He has the energy of nineteen Duracell bunnies, is extremely talented and seems like he’d be utter chaos. He also happens to be hot.
Si King - of the Hairy Bikers duo. If I’m assembling a dream coworker set-up then we obviously need a chef, and he seems so lovely, like somebody’s friendly Dad. He’d be able to give me a lift home on his bike too so it’s basically a 2-for-1 with the lunch & transport.
Miriam Margolyes - pure vibes. So funny. I’d just let her engage in a stream of consciousness and listen. I think she’d be hilarious in combination with the other two guests, too.
It depends on scale. Hamsters are already tiny so would a giant hamster just be the size of a dog? A horse? If so, I choose hamster. I could live a relatively normal life and perhaps even become famous on TikTok. Hamsters live around 2-3 years, I think, so that’s enough time to enjoy my Hollywood fame before crashing down in a blaze of glory.
However, if the hamster is King Kong sized, count me out. Too big. Would almost definitely be shot down by helicopters or drones.
Now, a tiny unicorn poses an interesting prospect because of the potential for magical abilities, but if I’m the size of a gnat, my powers would surely be relatively tiny too. So I need to be a big enough unicorn to make an impact.
Let’s say I’m the size of a dachshund but I’m a unicorn and I have magical powers - then I would take the unicorn over the hamster, purely due to longevity. Unicorns probably live a really long time and I could wreak an immense amount of havoc in my magical life.
